The CEO (Chief Executive Officer) is the highest ranking executive in a company. The duties include: developing and maintaining an effective leadership team, creating and communicating organizational clarity on corporate identity and culture (mission and values), setting direction and competitive strategy, identifying company roles and responsibilities, and setting goals and priorities. Only the CEO does this work and it is the work that only the CEO can do. It it a full-time job.
